Jorge Gurgel is the founder and Chief Instructor of Team Jorge Gurgel.

Originally from Fortaleza, Brazil, Jorge is a naturalized American citizen now living in Middletown, Ohio where he runs the New Generation Martial Arts gym.

Jorge attained his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under American Top Team black belt Marcus Aurelio and continues a strong tradition of tireless dedication that has helped Team Jorge Gurgel become recognized across the United States.

Well known for his aggressive Jiu-Jitsu style, Jorge has earned six Brazilian State Championships and become a UFC fighter, NAGA SuperFight Champion and ACC Light Weight Champion.

His students likewise place in international, national, and regional level grappling competitions throughout the year. Jorge has produced champions and medal winners in the International Pan-Am Games, National PRO-AM events, Relson-Gracie, Arnold Classic Grappling Championship, N.A.G.A., and numerous other tournaments.
