December 1998
Clint started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1998 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

May 1999


Clint earned his blue belt during the Royce Gracie seminar in Walled Lake, Michigan.


February 2001
The Royce Gracie seminar in La Grange, Indiana saw Clint get his first stripe on his blue belt.


May 2001

Clint earned his second stripe on the Royce Gracie cruise, in Nassau Bahamas.


June 2001
Once again, at a Royce Gracie seminar in La Grange Indiana, Clint was promoted-advancing to blue belt with three stripes.


September 2001
Clint opened up his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in '01, and little did he know what he was in for.


February 2002

Clint Crabtree after earning his purple belt and receiving the hearty congratulations of his teammates.


June 2003

Clint's gym was in Gun Lake Michigan during most of '03 and was growing slowly but surely. From there the school would move to the Toyoda Center in Grand Rapids.


November 2004

It was at the Jorge Gurgel seminar in Muskegon, Michigan that Clint earned his brown belt.


2005

The Grand Rapids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy's logo started gaining recognition as Team Jorge Gurgel Michigan hit the tournaments.


March 2006


By March of 2006, Clint had two stripes on his brown belt and was lookin' for black.


September 2007


The year 2007 saw GRBJJ growing to 20 blue belts, one purple belt and more whites than Clint could count.

 

January 2008
After 10 years of hard work, dedication and sacrifice, Clint "Big Dawg" Crabtree took his much deserved place among the elite fraternity of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belts. He received his belt from his instructor, Jorge Gurgel, in a brief ceremony attended by family, friends, and his devoted students.
